Description
A bricklayer's assistant is a construction professional who assists the bricklayer, including performing similar tasks.
So what does an assistant do?
- Laying bricks, blocks and stones: Builds walls, fences and other structures.
- Preparing mortar: Mixes cement, sand and water to bind building materials.
- Plastering and finishing: Applies layers of mortar to walls to level them and prepare them for painting or coating.
- Building foundations: Participates in the preparation and execution of building foundations.
- Laying tiles: Can carry out coating work on floors and walls.
- Carrying out small demolitions: Removes parts of structures when necessary for renovations or extensions.
- Maintenance and repair: Carries out repairs on walls, fences, floors and other structures.
Labourers can work on construction, renovation or maintenance projects in both residential and commercial buildings.
