Description
A butcher is a professional responsible for preparing, cutting and selling different types of meat for consumption. Their main duties include:
- Meat selection and inspection: Selects quality cuts from reputable sources for sale.
- Precise cutting: Cuts meat into pieces or steaks, respecting standards and customer preferences. Knows the different types of cuts and their culinary applications.
- Deboning: Separates the meat from the bones with technique and precision, ensuring that the meat is clean and usable.
- Preparation of meat products: Can produce sausages, charcuterie and other meat products.
- Stock and order management: Controls inventory, places orders and avoids waste.
- Hygiene and safety: Keeps the work environment, instruments and products in perfect hygienic condition, following food safety standards.
- Customer service: Interact directly with customers, answering questions, suggesting cuts and preparation methods, and ensuring good service.
- Wrapping and sale: Weigh, wrap and deliver the meat to the customer as requested.
